Release Notes

PRISM Surface v1.1.0 expands the material workflow with the new PRISM Material Converter and broader HDRP material support.

  • Scan loaded scenes or selected GameObject hierarchies and review referenced materials before conversion.
  • Review compatibility classifications, proposed surface settings, mapped properties, and warnings before converting.
  • Create new PRISM materials while leaving source materials and texture import settings unchanged.
  • Optionally replace renderer material references after conversion; Unity Undo restores changed references.
  • Convert supported HDRP/Lit Opaque, Alpha Clipped, and Alpha Transparent materials. Unsupported modes and features are identified before conversion.
  • Configure expanded surface controls, including surface type and culling options.
  • Enable transparent decal receiving where supported by HDRP. Supported decal channels are Base Color, Normal, and Smoothness.
  • Preserve supported Mask Map remapping for Metallic, AO, and Smoothness.
  • Detect invalid normal-map import settings and report when a normal map cannot be safely transferred.
  • Exclude existing PRISM materials from conversion candidates.
  • Improve Material Tool persistence and responsiveness.
  • Update documentation with converter workflows, compatibility guidance, and before/after examples.

HDRP materials that rely on mesh UV layout, texture atlases, trim sheets, or baked region selection may require manual adjustment after conversion because PRISM uses triplanar sampling. Appearance-preserving atlas-aware workflows are planned for a future major release.
